I was surprised 3 times.

Firstly ,when I knew this news that Earth,Wind & Fire was going to release a Christmas album.

Secondly, when I hear some Japanese sentence from the standard for kids"Yukiya konnkonn"

Thirdly , when my soul was so moved to dance with funky cover "Winter Wonderland "

Anyway this is the historical issue of EWF.
Who imagined that EWF released season album?


EWF arranged traditional tunes in the style of EWF and added holy and funky.

Special Event starts with "Joy to the World " full of the live feeling featuring a shout of Philip.
"Somebody Clap Your Hands"
I felt like being in front of stage covered with Christmas Illumination.

There included 2 songs of EWF.
"Happy Seasons "(Happy Feelin') and "December (September)
I wondered how these great songs change before I listened to...
But I got disapointed.

They only put the portion of "Happy Season' into "Happy Feelin'" as the portions of September were changed into December.

These 2 songs should not be featured, I thought.

The CM music which changed "System of Survival" into the Coca Cola,
That was further fresher.

However, I really got satisfied with other songs.
They were  beautiful and surprising  enough to spend wonderful season.

Especially. "Winter Wonderland "
During the season last year, this song was always on played in my brain.

Philip Bailey confessed that when he felt the exsitence of the God,
He couldn't stop his tears overflowing.

He determined to release Gospel album from label to express love,
During the interval of EWF activity.

Historical Gospel Album which super star of Soul music released.
These melodies were popular but at the same time ,holy.

I supposed this album had helped to spread inside the teaching of God to all the people.

Philip Bailey moved gospesl more familiar.
Musicians from another cateory joined
Like related artists like Skip Scarborugh, Don Myrick and more.

For  almost all songs, Paulinho Da Costa and Carl Carwell participated.
They were like a member of EWF.

There exsits some versions of this album.
But 4 CDs I have don't featured this.

I found it at youtube,
It says Unreleased track from Illumination sessions.

Nile Rogers of Chic backed up extensively the 5th solo album of the  sheet of
Philip Bailey!

Established the mighty Collaboration of Philip Bailey and Nile Rogers,
Each front man of super bands closed together.

Surprising contents that any song in this album could record smash hit!
So affected wth special effect with many talents.

Furthermore, many gorgeous members participated.

Phil Collins who constructed the tag by Easy Lover, and the producer George Duke of the 1st work were in.

In Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums in 1986,  record the 30th place of the highest.

I did't know that Ralph Johnson participated in the song writing of "Go" in this album.
Also The Phenix Horns were in with horns and backvocal.

Produced by Phil Collins featuring smash hit "Easy Lover"
The lineup of this album is various.
Slow ballade pulled out the charm of a beautiful falsetto of Philip Bailey fully,
and up-tempo musical pieces  made us funky!

Maximum hit album of Philip got the 2nd place at Billboard Hot 100.
And also got the gold record by RIAA in March in 1985.

Larry Dunn was original member of Earth, Wind & Fire as a keyboardist .
I feel happy that he sometimes appear at the recording of EWF still now.

His solo project is the historical master piece.
The beautiful melody which he plays charms our heart always.

Many members of EWF gathered for this album.
Though I did't get which music and which members were in,
cause of no nortification.

I've been so lucky that I could get this Delightful compilation album !

This was great present for EWF fans like me
who collect the items which members of EWF joined.

Although it is in a title with "THE SPIRIT OF EARTH WIND & FIRE",
original music of EWF were not featured at all.

The rare works that the members of  EWF participated  were taken up.
I have most of CDs which contains the songs as follows,
But some of them, It was first time to listen to and I got excited.

Something like that.

I rather want get this album as CD with booklet but this format is the only way to listen.

Several hit songs of EWF are included, however other songs were his original.
It made me happy coz I really love his original.
