It Is Love

It Is Love  / Sheldon Reynolds The Familey (2017)

Sheldon Reynolds was previously a vocalist and drummer for Earth, Wind & Fire. I really like his voice and I love his songs without exception!

I was really shocked when I learned that he had left EWF.

And also I feel sorry when I knew that he has the same Parkinson's disease as Maurice White.

The release of this work while being deprived of physical freedom little by little. Unlike Maurice when he disappeared from the live, as long as he listens to the album, he is full of power and love.

I sincerely hope that medicine will evolve and that the activities of this genius musician will not be taken away in the future.

While playing an active part on his own, he also really likes "Devoted Spirits", which he teamed up with Larry Dunn and Morris Plesure.

Two of them also participated in the eighth song of this album, Interlude.

EWF Horns also participated in EWF's masterpiece "Sing A Song"!

The voice of his wife Marilyn Reynolds, who is featured this time, is also really wonderful! Touch Me placed at the end of the album seems to be listening to standard masterpieces.

Everything is a masterpiece, just like an EWF album.

This time, like Sheldon Reynolds The Familey, this is a superb album created with his family around him.

It was released in advance in Japan ...

It's a pity that it doesn't seem to be sold very widely.

I'm looking forward to his next album.

Lover's Silhouette

LOVER'S SILHOUETTE / Larry Dunn Orchestra (1996)

Larry Dunn was original member of Earth, Wind & Fire as a keyboardist .
I feel happy that he sometimes appear at the recording of EWF still now.

His solo project is the historical master piece.
The beautiful melody which he plays charms our heart always.

Many members of EWF gathered for this album.
Though I did't get which music and which members were in,
cause of no nortification.

N2 The Journey

N2 The Journey / Larry Dunn Orchestra　(2012)

As I expected, many members of  Earth and Wind & Fire had participated in.

I supposed that was this!
The album John Paris told me at the backstage of Japan Tour.
Saying many menbers of EWF was going to attend the album of the initial"L"artist.

However, it is regrettable that John Paris ,who taught the information, had not participated.

Many sounds with a cool and sufficient parenthesis which incorporated vocal music moderately .
I really got excited !

Routes

Routes / Ramsey Lewis (1980)
                                                      feat. Earth,Wind & Fire

This is one of historical album that Ramsey Lewis and EWF got together .
From the bigginning, electro piano of Ramsey Lewis lightly pursue scats of Maurice White and John Lind in "Whisper Zone" .
And It easily takes us to the world of them.

Larry Dunn took part in writting in 5 songs.
Among them "Colors In Space"was really like the one of EWF.
I was excited!

Precious sound source in which Earth,Wind & Fire members of those days have participated !
Fan of EWF have to have it!

Intimacy

Intimacy / Ramlee Michael Davis　（2005）

Ramlee used to play trumpet @ " Phinixs　Horns"well known as former horns of
Earth,Wind & Fire.

After they left EWF, they got together with Pill Collins.

This solo works of Ramlee featured some members of EWF.

In this album, although slow melodious music is in the mainstream, the up-tempo ethnic music is also contained.

It is the one which deliver us various expression of the trumpet .

I did't know that he also performs a song!
His voice has a charm astringent enough.

Let me introduce the numbers that EWF members were in!

Solo album of Rahmlee、former member of horn section of Earth,Wind　&　Fire.

He took charge to Keyboards, Drum Programming, Percussion as well as Trumpet.
And he also make us hear to his vocal.

He made us listened some famous toun such as 2,4,9 by a futuristic mood while leaving a taste of the original.

A Tribute to Earth Wind and Fire

A Tribute to Earth Wind and Fire　/ Devoted Spirits（2005）

This is Debut album of Devoted Spirits!
Collaboration of these 3 people enrolled in Sheldon Reynolds, Larry Dunn, Morris Plesure.

It consists of it forcusing on the numbers of the famous tune of Earth Wind and Fire.

Everything is speedy and fresh for a sophisticated arrangement.

It's as far as I'm happy, that it can be satisfied with a vocal of Sheldon Reynolds to the fullest.
There was songs Sheldon Reynolds took a lead vocal for an album of Earth,Wind & Fire, but... the album we can listen to his vocal all the while was the first .

Maurice White also participated with vocal in "Stand Up Now "!
A picture of Maurice and Sheldon also appeared on a jacket of the album.

Salongo

Salongo / Ransey Lewis (1976)

I heard that " Salongo" means to creates something beautiful by the loved words in Zairian words."....

This is the 2nd version album that Maurice White produced his master Ramsey Lewis!
As the title, something beautiful was created neatly.

Though he put jazz in the center axis, the rhythm which sounds like Africa and Brazil was being taken in.

There was also thrilling sequence done throbbingly.

The gentle ring you can make purify of anxiety at the heart also exists.

A combination of Maurice White and Ramsey Lewis did the big creation !

Anyway a ring of a piano of Ramsey sounds like person's voice.
It's whispered quietly, and made feeling conceited, and... the feeling = heart is being transmitted from its sound perfectly.

Jennifer Holiday got many prizes by Broadway musical "DREAMGIRLS" and built the place by the musical star up then.

This is her solo debut album of such force party includes hit song " I Am Love " written by Maurice White and David Foster!
The powerful and certain singing ability matches with a song of every kind of style tightly.
This Album was produced by Maurice White !
Members of Earth,Wind & Fire also participated in this album!
Especially I love this song inside, "Shine A Light "!
This song starts with vocoder of Larry Dunn just like biginning of "Let's Groove"
A chorus of Maurice White and Emotions gave this song more of delight and funk.
A melody may also be slightly similar to "Let's Groove".

Tender Togetherness

★　Tender Togetherness　/ Stanley Turrentine　（1981）

When I checked the leaflet in this album, I nearly mistook and thought this was album of Earth,Wind&Fire!

The tenor sax player Stanley Turrentine was called the most expensive jazz musician with the highest guarantee after super hits of "Sugar"and"Cherry "

Many members of EWF paticipated in his album "　Tender Togetherness".
This is really exciting album with full funk under the producion of Larry Dunn!
Let me intoduce the pesonals in this album as below.
Don't you think it's essense item that EWF fan must have?

Philip Bailey participated with back vocal and percussion in "Only You and Me".
This song futured lead vocal of Diann Reeves,
But if possible ,Ｉ　wanted to listen with the lead vocal of Philip!
But if it was so, this sound like an album of EWF perfectly.

Famous tune "After the Love Is Gone " of Earth,Wind&Fire also recorded in this!.
The touch of tune is little different from the original , and it may be fun.

Tequila Mockingbird

Tequila Mockingbird　/Ramsey Lewis　（1977）

The album full of groove sense of the 47th of Ramsey Lewis　that members of Earth,Wind&Fire participated.

Expression of the sound of the keyboard his finger plays.
I always think. That the voice of musical instrumen changes by an artist,
3 songs of this this album (Tequila Mockingbird, Skippin' and That Ole Bach Magic), were produced by Larry Dunn !

Member of EWF cooperated.
But it's slightly unexpected that Maurice White awsn't in this....

"Tequila Mockingbird"as an album title song is so funky that you suppose it's like as a performance by a EWF member really!
You linger in ears surely, and how many times may they feel like hearing repeatedly?

" Skippin'" It makes us make move lightly!
"Morning "of David Foster bearing a close resemblance that is so the familiar you feel like skipping.

" That Ole Bach Magic "is also a short song, but it's the tune creating a nice unique groove sense.
The keyboard sounds of Ramsey Lewis are also attractive even the menbers of EWF don't participate of course !
Eddie del Barrio also participated in this album.

I think it's better to listen if you are the EWF fan!

Elements Of Pleasure

★　Elements Of Pleasure　／　Morris　Pleasure　（2004）

The member who was registered in EWF by keyboard charge to the front.

There are much participation albums with Morris who overflowed of the talent.

This is his solo with luxurious guests.
Philip Bailey and David Whitworth of EWF participated!

Love Song named "Lover's Groove" of Philip Bailey is really sweet, and is wonderful.

With "Beyond The Stars" we can listen to the lead vocal of David Whitworth who is

The Answer

The Answer / Devoted Spirits (2007)

Devoted Spirits released the 2nd full album!
This group was forimed by 3 ex-members of Earth,Wind & Fire.
Sheldon Reynolds, Larry Dunn, Morris Plesure.

Though last album was full of cover of Earth,Wind &Fire,
this time, all of this album is original tune.
I really like the voice of Sheldon Reynolds!
The music is full of variations from an EWF-like thing to the thing which is not so.

I like songs such as "Questions"or"This Generation"
