Just A Stone's Throw Away

Just A Stone's Throw Away / Valerie Carter (1977)

The 2nd solo album of Valerie Carter who had made many collaboration with various artists!

She's learned about by a category of a rock'n'roll, but the songs recorded in this album is expressive in various way!
She heal our ears and hearts with suitable way of singing from a ballade ,blues as well as a good song of up tempo tune.
I think it was from the relationship of the contest with the former artists, many big artists participated in this album !

Our Earth,Wind&Fire also participated in 2songs of this album.
They gave a happy groove to this album under Maurice White's produce.

"So, So, Happy" is a light and fun song.
When you listen to this, your heart soon gets to skip!

City Lights”is really the sound of EWF!
The song was writtten by EWF member and plyed with the beats of EWF on 70's!
If it was recorded in an album of EWF, it's so natural.

If there is any fan of EWF who has not checked yet → should listen by all means!

Comin' Atcha

Comin' Atcha / Cleopatra (1998)

3 sisters of teens at that time who have debuted in 1998.
This is their debut album.
I heard that they were the television program which made them a main character in UK..
Popularity of them were to the extent!

Every song in this album deserves to be an single cut.
The work was the really high percentage of completion.
I thought a big writers made songs, but most depended on their own work.
What a wonderful ability thay have!
Moreover it sounds so stylish!

Earth,Wind&Fire Horn participated in 3rd numbers of this album "Don't Suffer in Silence ".
Horns are

Ray Brown
Gary Bias
Reggie Young

Thay ring the grace note like EWF really.

By the way, the tarnish of this song was made with a motif.of "September"
A part of "Baa-eee-ahh-uh " is almost" Don't Suffer in Silence"in this song.,
But the feel of impression is quite different from "September".
If the lyrics of this melody weren't exites with " Baa-eee-ahh-uh ", maybe I didn't notice.that this is a motif of "September".
Excellent method of featuring motif.
I really recommend to listen to this ,especially for the people who loves the song "September"!

King of Stage

King of Stage / Bobby Brown (1987)

Superstar of the R&B in which a great success was put after converted into a solo from New Edition!
He made hits constantly.
I used to dance away at a disco with the numbers of his hit song in the background.
It's regrettable that there is no release of an album after "Forever" in 1977.

The album I introduce this time is his debut album.
Is this tittle" King of Stage" an expression of a confidence to his success?

Tequila Mockingbird

Tequila Mockingbird /Ramsey Lewis (1977)

The album full of groove sense of the 47th of Ramsey Lewis that members of Earth,Wind&Fire participated.

Expression of the sound of the keyboard his finger plays.
I always think. That the voice of musical instrumen changes by an artist,
3 songs of this this album (Tequila Mockingbird, Skippin' and That Ole Bach Magic), were produced by Larry Dunn !

Member of EWF cooperated.
But it's slightly unexpected that Maurice White awsn't in this....

"Tequila Mockingbird"as an album title song is so funky that you suppose it's like as a performance by a EWF member really!
You linger in ears surely, and how many times may they feel like hearing repeatedly?

" Skippin'" It makes us make move lightly!
"Morning "of David Foster bearing a close resemblance that is so the familiar you feel like skipping.

" That Ole Bach Magic "is also a short song, but it's the tune creating a nice unique groove sense.
The keyboard sounds of Ramsey Lewis are also attractive even the menbers of EWF don't participate of course !
Eddie del Barrio also participated in this album.

I think it's better to listen if you are the EWF fan!

Dear,Friends

Dear,Friends /Abraham Laboriel(1993)

Abraham Laboriel is the worldwide famous base player and also the founder of the Christian jazz band KOINONIA.

This is his solo album with variety of sounds of base.
Abraham also did sing in those tune,"Look At Me"and "Arroyo"
Very unique way of sing !

He sounds to have smooth voice with affective beat!
It's the tricky composition that his vocal connects with bass in "Look At Me"!
In "Arroyo",his voice sounds like bese rather than human voice.

Philip Bailey partcipated by lead vocal in " And I Do".
Strong and simple expectation to the love .
You make an impression with a refreshing decision.
I really love this song among many songs of Philip Bailey!
I also like this words.

I live for you.
And all my hopes are for you.
My every dream is for you.
To spend every day with me.

Bill Champlain joined in this song by backing vocal.

By the way, various artists participated in this album.
Such as Dave Grusin, Al Jarreau, Larry Carlton, Paul Jackson,Jr……

"SAMBA 7 "featured light vocal of Al Jarreau makes us move !
"Dear Friends" is erotic and at the same time, orthodox number.
Anyway It's a wonderful album.that you have to have!

Hot Feet

Hot Feet (2006)

Hot Feet

Hot Feet is a jukebox musical featuring the music of Earth, Wind & Fire,
This Musical was directed, and choreographed by Maurice Hines.
It opened on Broadway at the Hilton Theatre on April 30, 2006 and closed on July 23rd, 2006.

It develops with the famous tune of Earth, Wind & Fire in the background.
A story of the young dancer who has got red magic shoes.
I heared that it was made based on "The Red Shoes" of Hans Christian Andersen.

The abilities of 2 Maurice were related in this musical......
But unfortunately ,this stage didn't get a good reputation so much....

It has been a stage of a legend for a Japanese EWF fan without the visit to Japan performance
Maurice White offers 2 songs of new song for these musicals, and it's possible to listen in this album.

" Dearest Heart"is the beautiful song that has forcefulness in a quiet melody .
Magnificent and is also dynamic!
Though it equaled a famous tune in the past and spread over all over the world as a standard... if this musical was popular,
"Hot Feet" build into the stylish song energy overflows.
But why ?
Every song ends immediately in fade out……
Though I wanted to hear more these valuable 2 new songs carefully, it'll be an end immediately.
...
The total time of the CD → 13 minutes and 57 seconds。
Isn't it too short? !! !, while I say, "Oh~!" It finishes.

1 In The Stone
2 September
3 Shining Star
4 Boogie Wonderland
5 Dearest Heart
6 Serpentire Fire
7 Mighty Mighty
8 After The Love Is Gone
9 Hot Feet

The Day

The Day / Babyface (2001)

There would be no necessity to explain at all about Babyface.
One of the most famous producer who has many hit songs!
How many hit songs does he has on the earth , I wonder?

I knew the fact recently that members of Earth,Wind &Fire have participatd in such his excellent record "The Day".
I have listened to the album many times, but I didn't notice…I should have checked the participation artists on a CD jacket .

An image of love songs are rather forcing to him, but the up tempo music is also quite cool!
"This Is for the Lover in You" It is so exciting tune!
The rap of LL Cool J competed with a vocal of Babyface. So Cool,!the feeling of speed was being produced.
There is also solo part of Haward Hewitt at a part in bridge!
EWF members participated in this thrilling famous tune!

Ray Brown /Trumpets
Reggie Young /Trombone
Bill Meyers /Horn&Strings Arrengement

Only a great producer could do the play with such a big name guests ,I think.
In other songs ,there are surprising guests were featured such as///
Mariha Carry, Stevie Wonder, Kenny G, Jody Watley......

If there is a person who does't know this album, he should listen to it!!

Here It Is

Here It Is / Jevetta Steele (1993)

An up tempo song and a slow song are filmed by good combination .
This Album is suitable for BGM of a drive!

These melodies are reaching ears smoothly.
The 3rd album of Jevetta Steele.

Her most famous song is "Calling You" from the movie Bagdad Cafe.
This song was nominated for an Academy Award.

"Calling You"is featured in this album!

"Here It Is " of a title song of the album... This is produced and arrenged by Maurice White
and Bill Meyers!

Song was written by other artist,But it sounds like EWF.
This combination of two made the tune so delux,I think.

Keys to Your Heart

Keys to Your Heart / Joe McBride (1996)

Joe McBrideis a keyboard player and also a singer.

There are a lot of cases which are also a good vocalist in many cases for a great player, aren't there?

They may say that it's natural because most of prayer has the sense to catch music in an excellent way.

I like the way he songs destroying a melody and at the same time building a beautiful harmony.
There is 2 songs of vocal song in this album and both are a duet.

Philip Bailey participated in "It's Got To Be Love"!

Duets of feat Philip Bailey is often a love song... How is LOVE SONG between the men?
But I'm happy above all that voice of Philip can be heard, so what thing will also stop to worry about such thing?

These songs are easy to remember!

Tone of his keyboard... it's husky and is a nice ring.
