Something Special

Something Special / David Williams (1991)

Excuse me, I didn't know this one.
Even if I’ve checked with a net, I couldn't find certain information.
But it's for certain that he's the musician which has the aptitude to create affirmative tune and colour up these songs with vocal ,guitar, keyboard and also base .

Most of the songs in this album were written by him.
The way he sings is slightly similar to Maurice White! So and his voice is so attractive.
Refined, and it's cool!
GIRLFRIEND

Is a song of Maurice White and Bill Meyers participated.
Written by Maurice White, David Williams, Bill Meyers

Bill participated in an arrangement and with a keyboard for a song, and Maurice participated in an arrangement respectively and by a background chorus.
We can listened and get satisfied with a beautiful high tone chorus of Maurice White in an up tempo waves of tune!

The album he released when he had begun to be recognized as a great star, is this
 "Vox Humana" in 1985 .

9 of the songs in this album was written by Kenny Loggins.
Philip Bailey participated in "At Last" by the back vocal!

Written By Kenny Loggins, David Foster and Nathan East!

There is back vocal with Philip Bailey, Carl Anderson & Carl Caldwell

But this song is almost contained with duet of kenny Loggins and Philip Bailey!
The delicate high tone of Philip collaborates with a powerful vocal of Kenny excellently.

Really nice!

Tune where the "Loraine" of Kenny& David Foster worked next to it is also catchy and really nice.
You have to listen to it!

Lee Ritenour is an world known guitarist, recording artist, composer and producer.
He started his career at 16 years as a session player.
He has apriciated over 3000 sessions and more than 40 albums.

He also participated as a menber in Fourplay.
This is an album in 86 that he made with luxurious guests.
He played 9 songs with 9 different guitars... The vocal of the guitar is different in each tune.
An expression is also different.
Most of the tune were instrumetal in bright mood.
But the 3rd number " If I'm Dreaming"put a vocal part mainly.

Maurice White participated by the back vocal in this song
Song was written by Lee Ritenour, Martin Page and Maurce White.
A lead vocal is Phil Perry, but voice of Maurice can also be enjoyed sufficiently.
Beautiful high-pitched voice and unique shout in the second half of Maurice!
So Excithing!

David Foster also participated with Keyboards and Synth .
When it depended on interview with David Foster,
Whole he was recording with Ritenour, they felt that this sound was like Maurice,.
He called to Maurice White, and commissioned to write.

They also requested a lead vocal from him, but it isn't achieved because of a problem of contract with recordmaker, and it was only the back vocal.
I wanted to listen to this song by a lead vocal of Maurice White...

Nonstop

Nonstop / Julio Iglesias (1988)

An album in 88 of the Spanish worldwide singer Julio Iglesias who called a sweetheart of the world.
Former days , he was doing a goalkeeper by a farm team in distinguished family realistic Madrid of Spanish soccer, but it's in the superstar which gives up the way of soccer for a traffic accident and fires a million seller after that!
It's said that the sales by which it's for a record CD at the whole world exceed 250,000,000.

His voice is refreshing and elegant.

Philip Bailey participated in up tempo "ae,ao" in back vocal relatively in this album.
But it's difficult to confirm the voice of Philip Baily in voices of many artists attending in this song/

I'm glad for a fan if the participation was like the duet with Stevie Wonder in "My Love"recorded in this album .......

2. I Know It's Over
3. Never, Never, Never
4. Ae, Ao

Snapshot

Snapshot / George Duke (1992)

Fusion, funk, soul music and jazz...
Georege Duke was succeeded with colorful musicality as an artist,a composer and a producer.

The is the first album after he transferred the registration to Warner.
This album the one I love so much!

Elegant, but it's funky,
Instrumental tune and vocal song.
It's slow with up tempo.
It's rich in a variety but unified.
I like his slow number in particular,

" No Rhyme, No Reason " and "Ooh Baby " are really captive in this album.

His high-pitched voice is very clean!
Whether Philip Bailey is a lead vocal, I have misunderstood at first.

How do you say if Philip Bailey participated in this album?
The luxurious member gethered to sing this tune"Fame".
What a funky and at the sametime COOL!
I'm happy that a luxurious guest sings several measures solo in turn!
Let me introduce personal in turn!

Howard Hewitt , Chante Moore , Jeffrey Osborne , Lori Perry , Keith Washington ,Philip Bailey ,Deniece Whilliams , Phil Perry , Georege Duke!

We're also charmed with the high tone voice of Philip Bailey !
Anyway the album I frequently feel like hearing!
The person who doesn't have should have it by all means

1. From the Void (Intro)
2. History (I Remember)
3. Snapshot
4. No Rhyme, No Reason
5. 6 O'Clock

Handwritting On The Wall

Handwritting On The Wall (1974)

I had been looking for this song for long time!
At last I could get the record "Another Time"that this song included.

"Another Time"includes all songs of "Earth,Wind&Fire"and "Need Of Love"adding one song that was not included any record..

A jacket of an album is creating the unique atmosphere which seems to be EWF.
Anyway it's an old record, so the state is so bad, but I felt that I was happy to be able to listen to this song

Motif of the melody easy to remember is repeated endlessly, and by which a vocal twines around the beat.
The song sounds like loop music in recent days!
This song is so cool and novel!

This song was written by Maurice White, Wade Flemons, Don Whitehead

By the way, I knew by information from a friend of mine Kim, a record of the same contents is sold to the title as the "Beat It To Life".
They're the goods which are a mast in a way of big fan of EWF, aren't they?

Fantasy

Fantasy / Ramsey Lewis (1985)

Really Pop album of Ramsey Lewis.

I have not listened so many albums in many his works, but I think this album has a taste in different way from other Ramsey's album I had.
The splendid contest with the composition of voice and a keyboard !

It's a work in 1985, but even if it's listened now, I get an impression like new sound.

It's possible to hear a lead vocal of Maurice White in this album.
There are a lot of songs which take charge of a lead vocal by an album of other artists in case of Philip Bailey, but the lead vocal of Maurice White is valuable.
Though there is a lot of participation by a chorus.
I'm happy that his carefree voice can be enjoyed much to here.

The song is "Part Of Me".
Delight of fun love is a being transmitted to this love song.
Duet with Brenda Mitchell.

It isn't a song by a work of Maurice, but it's the song like Maurice really.
He also participated with horn and as producers.

1. This Ain't No Fantasy
2. Ram Jam
3. It's Gonna Change
4. Clefs of Mon Coeur
5. Victom of a Broken Heart
6. Slow Dancin'
7. Never Give Up
8. Part of Me
9. Quest
