I bought a CD I had never heard of before at the merchandise corner.

Unfortunately, Maurice White, founder of Earth, Wind & Fire, passed away in 2016 from Parkinson's disease.
The sadness he felt at that time was considerable for me.
Maurice only released one solo album, Maurice White

However, in 2019, several songs he had recorded were discovered.
12 songs produced with singer-songwriter Priston Grass.
The songs were recorded between 1991 and 2001.
These were the songs that were played at the venue before the start of Earth, Wind & Fire Japan Tour 2025.
It's exciting to hear Maurice's vocals for the first time!
There are probably some songs that were written for the Earth, Wind & Fire album but didn't make it.
Wiggle, featuring kalimba, is used in the interlude of "The Promise".
These songs are catchy and typical of Maurice.
Even though so much time has passed since his death, it's really nice to be able to listen to an album written and sung by Maurice White!
What's more, it seems there are still more demo songs, and the last two could be solo singles.
I definitely want them to be released.
