Maurice White will release a book following Philip Bailey.

Tittle is "Keep Your Head to the Sky ~My Life With Earth,Wind & Fire~
We can know the EWF from the view of great founder.

The release plan is June of the next year.
Although I feel it too early to inform , but it gives me great pleasure of next year.

Of course I 've already reserved.

Let's Groove Live 2015

I found the video which Earth, Wind & Fire performed their hit tune "Let's Groove"
at the tour with Chicago this year.

How many times I have listened to this song.
Although this song don't   loose gits groove and shine.

Members changed some arrange and also add ad-libs,
These are the other reasons ,that song don't fade the charm,anyway.

In this video, Philip Doron Bailey ,the son of Philp Bailey , lead the main vocal .
Without discomfort, he stood in the center of the band,

It  predicted me the beginning of a band's new wave.

I was so excited to get this album.

The Salty Peppers is the roots of EWF that 

Maurice White formed during his activities of Ramsey Lewis Trio.

The band featured 3,

Don Whitehead / Bass, Keyboard

Wade Flemons / Vocal

Maurice White / Drum

The original members of Earth,Wind & Fire

when they released their first album as EWF.

First single "La La Time"it made peop;e to know them .

Next, They released 2nd single "Uh Huh Yeah"

Having taken in style with singing  like YEAH or LALA ,mainly rather than meaningful words.

I felt like it roots of later Earth,Wind & Fire sound.

Although it is the album released about 45 years ago, I don't feel these sound old.

Is it because I am a big fan? 

I accept overflowing power and a message from those songs.

I realized the interesting fact when I first listen to this album about one song.

"Your Love Is Life"

This song is featured in this album.

That means this song was recorded 3 times at their original album.

It was published firstly at this album as The Salty Peppers.

2nd time ,Earth,Wind & Fire performed at this first album.

3rd time ,this song was played with new members at "In The Name Of Love"

I suppose that this song has something special meaning for Maurice White.

Classic Christmas Album

The Classic Christmas Album　/ Earth,Wind & Fire （2015）

Last year, Earth and Wind & Fire  released the Christmas Album at first time for their carrier.

I heard the news that they also released special album this year.

And I got it in my hands.

Some precious sound source were contained, these not recorded in their original album .
This album is not a new one.

It is special edition of "Holiday"featuring  bonus tracks.

After this Christmas album released, Who is going to buy last album "Holiday"?

But it was happy for me to know song that I didn't have in my EWF library.
Songs added to this album were the following .


●. Gether Round  

Commercials  song produced for the Target ,American Super chain .
This song  was on a collaboration album called "Sounds Of The Season" in 2005.

●　Get Your Hump on This Christmas (From The Cleveland Show)

Collaboration with "Cleveland Show"the character of spin-off " Family Guy"broadcast in the United States FOX.
This song was released in only Mp3 download in 2009.


●　I Asked For A Miracle (God Gave Me You)

This is the only song that I don't have source in my EWF library.
It was in  ” Legendary ” of Full Force in 2007.
Beautiful voice of Philip Bailey lead holy tune.
To have met this song, I was so happy to buy this album.


●　Open Your Heart to Love

The solo single of Maurice White  at first time after he released his solo album "Maurice White" After release by Mp3 downloads sales, It was featured in Season album "'Tis The Season"in 1997.


●　One World

 Hit song writers in US and Russia carried out collaboration  at first time in 1988.
"Music Speaks Louder Than Word" was full of message of peace.
Earth,Wind & Fire recorded great performance with  children's chorus .

I misunderstood that this single was a song feat.Maurice White.

But it was in Genre of  Spoken Word .
He talked about his solo album and Earth,Wind & Fire.

With the song from "Maurice White" background.

Even if it was not the performance.
I love to listen to Maurice's voice.

And it was so fascinating.

At Last...The Duets Album／Kenny G (2004)



This is the duet album of saxophonist Kenny G who keeps on releasing many hits with  instrumental .

He performed many of famous pieces of music with many gorgeous artists in this album.

Earth，Wind & Fire participated in ”The Way You Move”originally recorded by Outcast.

Kenny and EWF changed this wild number to the sweet slow love song.

I suppose that you know well this song because it is collected to album (Illumination) of EWF as a bonus track.

It differs little when you compare both "The Way You Move" of the album of EWF and Kenny G.

Kenny's Version is 4.06 minutes while the total of the tune is 4.36 minutes in EWF Version.

The length of the tune is different for as many as 30 seconds.

Give It Check and Sing Like This

It starts with cool instruction at opening in Kenny's version, however, it starts after some measures in EWF version .

Numerical bar has been inserted in the head of the tune .

In the last parts of the song to fade, we can enjoy the voice of EWF longer ｉｎ.EWF Version .

If you want to listen to this "The Way You Move",the edit version,

Even if you are not EWF fan, this album is worthy to have.

Reggie Young and Gary Bias also participated as EWF Horns besides Maurice White and

Philip Bailey of Vocal.

Gary Bias of the saxophone firmly rivaled it to Kenny.G!

Live 2004 feat.Maurice White with Outkast &George Clinton

Wow! What a exciting video!
I found exciting piece of event at you tube.
Maurice White was in the performance.

When I last saw him at the stage in Japan,
although the motion was awkward under the influence of Parkinson's disease ,
he showed greatest presence .






After performing "Shining Star" in this event,
They attend "The Way You Move" with  Outkast and George Clinton together.

What a gorgeous scenery!

Sweet Sweetbach's Baadasssss Song  (1971)



The soundtrack album which they released after" Earth,Wind & Fire ".

The movie music of the same name which Melvin Van Peebles produced.
This film made a smashing success focusing on a black layer for independence distribution those days.
Though I haven't watched this yet.


It had been criticized severely to the press when a white man wrote an article.

It would be from the color of the work. There was big movement in music. I feel strong energy.

Because most of this music were written and sung by Mel Vin Brer Soul who produced this film,
It cannot be said that this soundtrack is of the Earth,Wind & Fire's work purely.
But their power of sound surely added more power to this story, I guess.

Music had a motion. also strong energy.



This was the 139th place (19 weeks chart in) where as initial work of EWF was the 172nd place in U.S. chart.

The member of EWF was the lover of Prisia ( former secretary of Mel Vin in those days)
（was it Maurice?）.

That was because EWF had a chance to participate to this sound track having been correct him and intellect through her.

But EWF does not seem to matter about this music that the third piece "Come On Feet".

It was recorded in" Aint Supposed To Die A Natural Death" which Mel Vin produced in 69.
It sounds to be the same take.

This item was published in Japan as a set of book with CD.

The precious record which explained the story of a movie, and its background with the photograph.

The dialog of the movie was also in featured by text both in original  and in Japanese translation.

I didn't know that Verdine White was not a good driver.

It was like an adventure film that hero met gradually his powerful friends and
achieves their purpose together.
So exciting especially because Characters in this book were real
and all of them were the super stars everybody who loves EWF knows.

Members of Earth,Wind & Fire and many stars around them.

This book that Philip Bailey  wrote was the record of the great history of EWF,and also of himself.

Every topics was so interesting .
I felt so happy to know these stories behind their success.

This long story began at the age when Philip's childhood.
Many episodes were talked both of group and his private life.
Philip Bailey even dared to confess his scandal love affair.

Like his heartbreak about his ex- married wife.

Gradually great members gathered at Maurice White.
It was so exciting to see their names with unknown episode.

Why did Al McKay left the band.
What happened when Earth,Wind & Fire was not in move?
How do they feel when they saw the movie,"That's The Way Of The World"?
Which album jacket they don't like?
How did they think  when they knew Maurice's sick?


Rumors of EWF were clarified.

All the traditions are clarified.

There were many emotions above many complications, and a band regained harmony and begian to shine again.

This book also reminds me of holiness of this band that they always send message to people.
With holy and bright concept with the hope of peace.
I thought that was one of main reason that so many people love EWF forever.


When I was reading this sentences , great music of EWF were  always echoed in my brain.
